Suddenly shifting a face-to-face course to an online learning environment or designing a new online course in a short period of time is a pedagogical and technological challenge for many instructors. What are some of the key issues that we need to consider so that equity and inclusion remain important elements in our courses? Many instructors are still adjusting to the sudden and unexpected shift to the online teaching and learning platforms, and we are continuing to learn as we go, including when it comes to inclusive teaching practices. Please join us for a conversation with panelists with different areas of expertise and disciplinary backgrounds to hear their experiences, to ask your questions, and to share your teaching experiences with everyone as well.

Panelists:

  • Aftab Erfan, Equity & Inclusion Office,School of Community and Regional Planning
  • Louise Longridge, Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences
  • Afsaneh Sharif, Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology

Facilitator: Natasha Fox, Equity & Inclusion Office/Department of Geography
