Are you ready to transform your teaching approach and deepen your understanding of Indigenous contexts? Join us for a conversation-based workshop designed specifically for teaching and learning professionals eager to indigenize their courses but are feeling unsure of where to start. To learn more about the in/relation Project, visit the website, https://inrelation.ubc.ca/.
What to Expect:
- Engaging Screening: Kick off with a thought-provoking screening of Facilitating in/relation video. Spark your imagination and set the stage for meaningful dialogue while listening to UBC instructors story their experiences bringing in Indigenous topics into the classroom using the in/relation facilitation guide.
- Interactive Discussions: Dive into rich discussions with your teaching and learning colleagues across campus. Discover how you can facilitate critical conversations in your classroom that empower students to take ownership of their learning and draw connections to their own contexts.
- Podcast Insights: Before the workshop, we encourage you to listen to the recently released Stories in/relation: The Story So Far’s the perfect primer to enrich our in-session conversations and provide a broader understanding of the topics at hand.
- Collaborative Learning: Whether you’re a new learner or looking to enhance your existing knowledge, this workshop invites you to engage openly with Indigenous topics, moving from a place of uncertainty to one of action and connection.
Don’t miss this opportunity to become a co-learner, companion, and curator in your teaching journey. Let’s work together to create learning environments that honor Indigenous knowledges.
Join us and be part of the conversation! Register now and take the first step toward enriching your classroom with Indigenous perspectives.
