Event Description

Registration for this session is full, please add your name to the waitlist HERE

This workshop provides a deep exploration of common phrases and behaviours that can have detrimental impacts on learners from equity-deserving backgrounds. Using anti-oppressive frameworks, intervention models, and practical tools, participants will engage in group activities and discussion that deconstruct specific harmful phrases and behaviours, their roots, and ways to address them. The aim of this workshop is to equip educators with the ability to recognize and interrupt harmful phrases, thought patterns, and/or behaviours.

Please note that because we will be discussing specific phrases, workshop content may elicit some challenging emotions and/or recollections for those who have lived experience with harmful phrases and behaviours, so we encourage participants to do what they need in order to tend to their wellbeing before, during, and after the workshop.
