This event is part of the CTLT Summer Institute, taking place from August 19–22, 2024.
Join CTLT Indigenous Initiatives in a guided exploration of the What I Learned in Class Today Project. During this session, the project team is excited to offer a demo of the Renewed What I Learned in Class Today Facilitation Guide and Toolkit. Participants will have the chance to ask questions and to reflect on ways to apply the What I Learned in Class Today resources to their specific learning contexts.
Session Outcomes:
- Learn about the What I Learned in Class Today project as a pedagogical tool in creating safer learning environments for Indigenous students
- Learn how to utilize the Renewed What I Learned in Class Today Facilitation Guide and Toolkit to your learning contexts (especially if you are interested in facilitating WILICT materials!)
About What I Learned in Class Today:
WILICT is an educational resource that documents both student and faculty experiences, perspectives, and tools on navigating Indigenous content in the classroom. Originally an impactful Indigenous student project in 2007, What I Learned in Class Today was renewed in 2018 by the Indigenous Initiatives Team to investigate what has changed and further work that needs to be done.
Facilitator:
- Hannah Coderre, Educational Consultant, Curriculum and Student Development, CTLT
