We welcome you to attend one of CTLT Indigenous Initiatives’ monthly Virtual Coffee Hours. They are an informal space to connect with consultants on the team and other colleagues across the university. We are always excited to hear about a project you are working on or a new resource you found, peer-to-peer sharing is highly encouraged. Please come if you have questions or are just looking to say hello!
Indigenous Initiatives develops and offers programming, resources, and consultations focused on Indigenous engagement in professional development, curriculum, pedagogy, classroom climate and evaluation. To facilitate respectful and meaningful dialogue in learning spaces on campus and the communities we work within, we provide support for faculty, staff, teaching assistants, and graduate students. Virtual Coffee Hours are open to anyone who would like support in these areas and/or would like to connect with our team.
Some common topics that come up include:
- Professional development plans for individuals, teams, and departments
- Engaging with the Indigenous Strategic Plan
- Fostering a respectful classroom and campus climate
- Connecting with a network of people across the university
- Locating relevant resources
- Meaningful land acknowledgements
…and more!
We welcome people at all stages on their learning journeys; whether you are new to these conversations or exploring ongoing learning. We look forward to reconnecting or meeting you for the first time!
II Team Consultants:
- Paulina Semenec, Educational and Evaluation Consultant
- Kyle Shaughnessy, Educational Consultant: Staff Training
