Introduction to gamification as a pedagogy to create an engaging learning process. Cultural Histories of the Media (HIST 109) will be presented as a case study.

 

David Newman, PhD, MFA

David teaches in both the Writing, Research and Discourse Studies, and History at UBC, as well as building Creatific Culture Labs, an international collective/network helping organisations unleash their creativity, fuel their innovation, and transform their culture. He teaches HIST 109 Cultural Histories of the Media in the summer at UBC, which he has gamified to be based on the 1932 Parliamentary Hearings leading to the introduction of public broadcasting in Canada.
