Event Date & Time

Event Description

As a result of an increase in the number of international students and immigration, today’s classroom is composed of ethnically and culturally diverse students, which requires “culturally responsive teaching” pedagogy. In addition, because of fast-paced technological developments, students need to become familiar with the technological tools that can prepare them for the 21st-century workforce. It is therefore necessary to explore how digital tools can be used to build cultural competency among students. The researchers present using digital storytelling to acquire cultural competence as a solution to promote inclusivity and diversity. In this workshop, I will try to share my own learning experience of using digital storytelling in my second language learning classroom and student’s feedbacks and outcomes.
