Event Date & Time

  • IN-PERSON
    March 4, 2025
    10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Event Description

In-person

Evaluating and researching teaching and learning is an important endeavour. Choosing the right approach and tools is key to obtaining the evidence needed to assess the outcomes of a project and the impact of our teaching practices. While surveys are one of the most commonly used data collection methods, designing effective surveys that elicit useful and insightful data can be challenging.

In this workshop, participants will gain an understanding of when surveys serve as an appropriate evaluation tool, the most common types of questions used in teaching and learning projects, and best practices around inclusivity and diversity issues.

Please note this session is only available for UBC students, instructors, faculty and staff.

If you are registering for this session only to access the slides but are unable to attend at this time, please view our website for a copy of the slides from prior offerings or reach out to one of the facilitators and we can share them once the session is over.

Facilitators:

  • Adriana Briseño-Garzón, Senior Manager: Research and Evaluation
  • Natasha Pestonji-Dixon, Evaluation & Research Consultant
