Before gathering data for a scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) project you need to decide on the best method for answering your inquiry. If focus groups or interviews are the best fit, it is important to design the sessions in a way that elicit useful and insightful data. In this workshop, we will discuss when to use focus groups or interviews as evaluation methods and will share best practices for how to integrate them into your SoTL projects. Participants will leave the session with a basic understanding of planning, administrating and analyzing focus groups and interviews.
Please note this session is only available for UBC students, instructors, faculty and staff.
If you are registering for this session only to access the slides but are unable to attend at this time, please view our website for a copy of the slides from prior offerings or reach out to one of the facilitators and we can share them once the session is over.
