Alternative assessments are crucial for promoting deeper learning and student engagement, as they provide diverse and practical ways to evaluate students’ understanding and skills beyond traditional tests.

In this workshop, we will explore key elements of effective assessment design, types of alternative assessments, and strategies to incorporate alternative assessments into your courses. We will focus on how you can transform your existing assessments to alternative assessments with the support of learning designers who will provide practical insights and support. Through case sharing and discussions, you will reflect on your own course, gain knowledge and resources to design and implement effective alternative assessments, and start developing actionable plans with ongoing support from learning designers.

The session will start with a 60-minute presentation, followed by 30-minute drop-in for extra support. During the drop-in, we will focus on your specific challenges, and work with you and answer your questions.
