Event Date & Time
Event Description
This is a multi-access event.
This event is part of the CTLT Summer Institute, taking place from August 19–22, 2024.
Technology is incredible and greatly enhances access, but it isn’t always reliable. Have you ever had a Monday where everything that could go wrong with your computer did? Learning management systems (LMS) like Canvas are a great way to disseminate materials, but they are only as accessible as the materials we upload to them.
LMS themselves are an accessible skeleton built with web standards, but if your uploaded content isn’t accessible, some students may still struggle. Fortunately, making your materials more accessible, thereby increasing accessibility of Canvas is straightforward. Ensuring your MS Word, PDF and PowerPoint documents are accessible can significantly reduce learning barriers. Let’s explore some basic steps to improve accessibility and make learning more inclusive with just a few clicks.
This session will be presented in a hybrid modality. We want to respectfully state that we cannot guarantee that attending hybrid sessions online will provide you with the same networking, and participation opportunities that are possible in person. CTLT reserves the right to pivot to online if there are not sufficient registrants who will attend in-person.
