Note: This event is only open to TA Training Coordinators and Senior TAs.
This Facilitation Basics workshop is meant for TA Training Coordinators or senior TAs who will be delivering facilitated sessions focused on teaching enhancement for TAs. The workshop is also open to all graduate students who are interested in getting involved in TA Training in their departments.
During this workshop, you will focus on developing key skills for designing workshops and classroom activities: determining workshop/activity objectives, designing activities, time management, etc.
You will also focus on developing key skills for facilitating workshops. We will guide you to apply concepts, models, and techniques drawn from the teaching and learning literature to workshop facilitation.
The workshop is an interactive, peer-based model which will give you opportunities to learn about, practice, discuss, and reflect on workshop development skills, and will run from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Please register for this workshop if you know you are able to attend and let us know in advance if you need to cancel.
