Event Date & Time
Event Description
Giving timely, relevant feedback to students is a critical aspect of good teaching and supporting student success. With increasing class sizes and student diversity in many higher education institutions, providing personalized feedback to students can be difficult due to limited time and resources available to instructors.
This workshop provides an introduction to OnTask, a learning analytics tool that enables instructors to send timely mass personalized feedback to students. Feedback can range from targeted suggestions for students at-risk to enrichment opportunities for high-achieving students.
This workshop will also provide an overview of current learning analytics research and of UBC’s Learning Analytics Project. The facilitators will explore areas where learning analytics can support you in improving teaching, learning, and engagement in your courses.
Following the workshop, faculty members who wish to pilot OnTask can learn more about implementing this tool in their courses.
