Series: Learning Technology
Event Date & Time
Event Description
UBC has been a member of the edX consortium since Fall of 2015. In that time we have developed and run both public and on-campus courses, including 13 MOOCs, 4 Professional Education courses and 20 on campus courses; which have been taken by 103,780 outside learners and 5097 UBC students. UBC has also contributed several extensions to the open source edX platform, and has become an active participant in several edX consortium working groups. More than 39 UBC faculty and 30 staff now have experience working with the edX system and community.
Please join us for this 90 minute working session at which we will:
– review overall UBC edX activities to date
– provide an opportunity for faculty and staff to share their most creative or important use of edX to date
– provide an opportunity for faculty to share what they would like to accomplish with the edX platform this year
– hear from edX directly about their main priorities for the coming year
This will be a working session. All presentations will be brief. The goal is for the growing UBC edX community to get a better sense of what others are doing with edX, and to provide the UBC edX staff a chance to hear what you want to do so that we can discuss supporting it. Please join us if you are using edX, or interested in starting to use it anytime in the next year.
