Event Date & Time
Event Description
Jupyter notebook is a web application for interactive computing and is the industry standard for reproducible data science. This workshop will show instructors how to create data-enabled teaching resources with Jupyter notebooks and how to deploy them easily in their courses.
The Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) created ubc.syzygy.ca to host Jupyter notebooks for everyone with a UBC CWL. Instructors can create Jupyter notebooks for teaching and share with students using Syzygy. No programming experience or software installation is required!
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
– Familiarize with the interface, function, and operations of Jupyter notebook
– Create your own teaching resource using real datasets with Jupyter notebook
– Explore additional functionality of Jupyter notebook with Python programming
