Supporting Students’ Learning, Health, and Wellbeing

Series: CTLT Institute

Event Date & Time

Event Description

Are you aware of the learning, health, and wellbeing challenges that are faced by students at the University of British Columbia? Have you wondered if there is a way for instructors to easily  provide students with information about the support and resources available that can help them not only succeed and thrive in their academic lives but also in their increasingly complex lives?

This session will begin with a broad overview of some of the challenges students face and approaches taken by two UBC central units, the Chapman Learning Commons and Student Health and Wellbeing. We will then discuss the partnership that was formed with the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology and the consultation process that was used to develop and test a student learning resource that you can easily import from Canvas Commons and use in your course.

Designed to help faculty focus on their teaching, this resource contains links and information about academic support, library resources, and health & wellbeing that were designed for UBC students. In  this session you will have time to review the content, provide feedback, and learn how to add the content of this resource to your course. We also hope that you will be interested in collaborating with us to continue testing and expanding the use of this resource.
