Event Description

Online

This event is part of the 2024 Celebrate Learning Week, taking place from May 6–10, 2024.

With generative AI and the concern for plagiarism in the upswing, research recommends asking questions such as, “What are the ethical implications of advanced technology on education? How can artificial intelligence promote equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility?” (Eaton, 2023, p. 3) In this project, we used the photovoice method to generate visual narratives from UBC students on questions such as,

  • What are the benefits and challenges of using generative AI tools?
  • How do you use AI for learning?
  • Can we use AI-based tools and maintain learning integrity?

Join the conversation with UBC student panelists who respond to these questions and shape the conversation on how we will learn differently in the future.

Moderator:

  • Anita Chaudhuri, Assistant Professor of Teaching, FCCS, UBC Okanagan

Panelists:

  • Ximena Cayo, Barrantes, Undergraduate student, UBC Okanagan
