Series: CTLT Institute
Event Date & Time
Event Description
In-person
This event is part of the CTLT Summer Institute, taking place from August 19–22, 2024.
Want to start your semester off strong? In this interactive 60-minute workshop, we’ll reimagine the first day of class. Through group discussion and a mapping activity, you’ll create a plan to align day 1 student experiences with your course goals, content, and learning activities. Come prepared to share your experiences and tips, and to focus on a specific course you’ll be teaching.
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Collaboratively generate tips and ideas for starting the semester strong before the first day
- Clarify what you want students to gain on their first day
- Design a first day engagement plan that seamlessly aligns with your course goals, content and learning activities
