Event Description

This workshop will be useful to students, staff, or faculty who are interested in actively incorporating ways to share student ideas and generate knowledge in their lessons through discussion. In this workshop, we will not only examine what makes a discussion effective, but we will also develop strategies to help you as an instructor prepare for facilitating discussion. We will address challenges and barriers to generating good discussions and brainstorm solutions together to help circumvent these concerns. Participants will leave this workshop with many practical resources and techniques that will give them the flexibility to plan discussion activities that are purposeful and effective in classes of any size.
