Series: CTLT Institute
Event Date & Time
Event Description
Pillar: Transformative Learning
Faculty who work with community and industry partners are often inspired to transform some of our teaching in the classroom into learning materials for external professional learners.
At this workshop, CTLT Learning Designer and course developers from the National Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health will share issues and challenges they faced when they co-developed an online course on food safety – “Ready-to-Eat Meats Online Course: Assessing the Food Safety Risks” on Rise Articulate. Based on feedback from over 300 learners, we can explore: a) design strategies for structuring content for professionals; b) considerations in selecting learning platform and tool for open courses; and c) self-paced learning pedagogy.
In particular, you will learn about the features and functionalities of Rise Articulate, a course development tool for mobile learning. We invite faculty/staff members who are interested in developing self-paced professional development courses to join us. You will be able to:
• Apply the pedagogical issues and solutions explored in the session to their future course development;
• Design and develop an online course by using web-based course development tool, i.e., Rise Articulate;
• Adapt the collaborative process between UBC learning Designer and external clients to their work and needs.
