Event Description

Do you have an idea for how to improve a student’s learning experience or reach new student audiences through online learning? Would you like support making this idea a reality? Faculty are invited to attend this information session to learn about the Online Learning Advancement Fund (OLAF), created in 2019 to support the development of online cohort-based learning opportunities, either credit or non-credit. Modelled after the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund, OLAF was launched as part of the University’s commitment to transformative learning set out in the UBC Strategic Plan.

On April 25, Extended Learning, in collaboration with CTLT, is hosting an information session with drop-in consultation for prospective OLAF applicants. During the week of May 6-10, two additional drop-in consultation sessions will take place. The OLAF team, comprised of Extended Learning and CTLT staff with backgrounds in new program development, market research analysis, business and budget planning, project management, curriculum and course design, learning technology and media design, will be on hand to assist applicants with their letter of intent application. You can register for the drop-in sessions on the CTLT Events webpage.

Information session facilitators are Simon Bates, Anne-Rae Vasquez, Andrea Han, Tanya Reid, Denise Lauritano, Tracey Rossignol, Kate Stewart, Adriana Briseno-Garzon and Chris Crowley. Contact information: olaf.admin@ubc.ca
