Event Date & Time
Welcome to UBC! We are pleased you have joined our vibrant, supportive UBC community! We know our staff and faculty are the most important resource we have – working side-by-side to shape the future of research, learning, and work. Jointly presented by the Department of Human Resources and the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT), this session is designed to help new staff members learn more about UBC and the opportunities available here for you.
At the end of this half-day session, you will:
- Gain insights into UBC’s research, the student experience, and the community
- Hear first-hand from colleagues about how to have a successful transition and first year
- Meet colleagues from across the Vancouver campus
The day’s events include an optional guided tour at the Museum of Anthropology before the main event or a tour of the UBC campus and a panel of veteran faculty and staff discussing their journeys at UBC. The Orientation will be followed by a Wine and Cheese networking event hosted by the Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic. Light lunch will be provided. Please let us know if you require accessibility-related measures.
Light lunch served between 12:15PM – 1:00PM.
Please note, this is for NEW STAFF only. New FACULTY members, please register here
