Event Description
☰ Demonstration Session Type
In this 90-minute session, we’ll demonstrate the migration of a typical Connect course into Canvas. We’ll have a look at ‘what went where’; compare the most common tools and content areas in both systems; run through a checklist of clean up tasks to get you ready for a new session. We will not have our UBC Canvas environment ready for you to play with your own content. This session will be a sneak peek so you can start thinking about your own migration! Keep in mind, this workshop is not intended to teach participants about all the basic functions and features of Canvas. We will focus on the practical methods to move content out of Connect and into the Canvas course site. We strongly encourage you to attend an Intro to Canvas Basics as a precursor to this migration workshop. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Describe the export and import process from Connect to Canvas
- Describe some of the differences between Connect and Canvas tools
- Describe ways to review, reorganize and revise migrated materials
This is a registrable event and lunch will be provided at 11:45am. Please bring your own computer. Open to Faculty and Staff.
