Series: CTLT Institute Open Education
Event Date & Time
Event Description
What is inclusive design and why do you think we should care about inclusive learning and teaching? In this interactive session we will explore teaching approaches that address the needs of our learners, considering the full range of their diversity with respect to culture, ability, gender, language and other forms of difference. We will also discuss strategies that contribute to an overall inclusive learning environment in which students feel equally valued and have equal opportunities to learn. Participants will have an opportunity to work in groups to apply these strategies into their own context and make their courses more inclusive.
As a group, we will discuss and share our current approaches and challenges to gain insight into how we can be more inclusive in our teaching and learning design and practice. If you wish, you may bring a syllabus or particular course activity or assignment you would like to work on, or you can think of one during the workshop itself.
