Event Description

“Indigenous Feminisms: Arts and Practice” focuses on creative practices and knowledge production. The event will feature a number of performances and provocations – ranging from the poetic to the performative, from film to installations. The performances and provocations will engage with on-going debates within Indigenous studies and Indigenous politics more generally, as well as question and challenge the contours of such conversations. The event will include contributions by artists, filmmakers, performers, writers and academics (though so far most of the people we’re inviting fit into more than one of these categories) that generally are grounded in the theme of representations and enactments of Indigenous feminisms through performance, broadly defined.

Thursday September 22nd features film screenings by Lisa Jackson and Elle-Maija Tailfeathers in conversation with Dory Nason.
