Evaluating the Impact of Experiential Learning

Event Date & Time

  • May 23, 2019
    1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Event Description

Pillar: Transformative Learning

Experiential Learning can be conceptualized in many different ways, and it can take richly diverse forms across disciplines and contexts. We invite all UBC educators actively implementing experiential learning opportunities for their students as well as those who are considering introducing such pedagogies in their teaching to join this session. Participants will work collaboratively to identify sources of evidence and tools for collecting the evidence that will help them assess the impact of experiential learning. Through guided discussion, participants will also jointly explore common challenges and pitfalls.

Please note that this session is not intended to help participants design the experiential learning components of their courses. Rather, this session offers an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with colleagues interested in assessing the impact of experiential learning on students and relevant stakeholders.
