Cultivating the Reciprocal Benefits of Wellbeing Practices for Faculty and Students

Event Date & Time

Event Description

In-person: UBCO

This event is part of the 2024 Celebrate Learning Week, taking place from May 6–10, 2024.

Join us for a dynamic workshop to explore the integration of evidence-based wellbeing practices into your teaching environment, whether it be a classroom, lab, or online class. Research shows that instructor and student wellbeing are interrelated in that the types and frequency of student-teacher interactions impact the wellbeing of both (Klitz et.al., 2020; Trolian et.al., 2022). Build your repertoire of strategies; become aware of resources; learn and share ideas with others. It’s not about doing more, but “value added.” No matter your discipline, this approach to learning honours our commitment to the Okanagan Charter for Health Promoting Universities and embedding wellbeing into all aspects of campus culture. Our aim is that you leave this session inspired to apply new strategies for fostering positive, reciprocal, and engaging environments that support the wellbeing and teaching/learning goals of you and your students.
