Contract Faculty CoP – What Motivates Students to Learn?

Event Date & Time

  • January 14, 2020
    11:30 am - 1:30 pm

Event Description

We all love what we teach and spend our lifetimes reading and researching what we share with our students. Unfortunately, not all of our students recognize our passion or know how to connect our passion to their own learning.

At this community of practice gathering, we would like to review how intrinsic values and fair expectancies motivate students to learn. We hope that you will walk away with some classroom support strategies that you can implement in your own teaching environment. We look forward to working with you in this community of practice!

Facilitators:

Sarika Bose teaches in the English Department and is the Chair of the UBCFA’s Contract Faculty Committee, which represents 8-month, 12- month and all other non- tenure track faculty at UBC.
