Celebrating Teaching Excellence: Nominating a 3M National Teaching Fellow

Event Date & Time

  • March 19, 2019
    1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Event Description

UBC is consistently ranked among the 40 best globally and the top 20 public universities in the world. UBC’s commitment to supporting innovation in teaching and learning is reflected in the achievements of exceptional instructors and educational leaders, including 19 3M National Teaching Fellows among current or former faculty or alumni.

CTLT invites you to join this community of leaders and learn about the nomination process for the 3M National Teaching Fellowships.  We have heard that the nomination and preparation process can be daunting, and we would like to help.

At this information session, participants will have the opportunity to meet some of UBC’s 3M National Teaching Fellows and hear their experiences about how they prepared their nomination packages and what they identified as crucial to their ‘success’. Drs. Simon Bates and Christina Hendricks will also be present to share support available from the Office of the Provost & VP Academic and from CTLT.

We invite all past nominees who are considering a re-submission and those who are interested in putting forward a nomination to attend this information session.

Presenters:

  • Simon Bates, Associate-Provost, Teaching and Learning
  • Christina Hendricks, Professor of Teaching, Department of Philosophy; Academic Director, CTLT
  • Judy Chan, Educational Consultant, CTLT
