Event Date & Time
Event Description
In-person
The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) builds a bridge between teaching and research in the disciplines. SoTL is “the systematic study of teaching and/or learning and the public sharing and review of such work” (McKinney, 2006, p. 39)
We are excited to announce the sixth annual UBC Celebrate SoTL Event, in-person, on Thursday, October 19th. Celebrate SoTL is an opportunity for UBC SoTL practitioners to share their stories from practice, engage in dialogue around teaching and learning topics, and network with colleagues across disciplines. The event also offers an opportunity for those interested in, or currently engaging with the scholarship of teaching and learning, to become familiar with SoTL work that is currently taking place at UBC. Read about previous Celebrate SoTL events.
Featuring current SoTL activity from across UBC, this lightning talk session will provide an opportunity to disseminate project outcomes and to learn about successes and pitfalls from work developed by faculty, staff and students. Each speaker will present their projects for 3 minutes, followed by a Q&A period.
Those interested in presenting their SoTL work should submit an application by Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
Facilitators:
- Adriana Briseño-Garzón, Senior Manager: Research and Evaluation
- Trish Varao-Sousa, Evaluation & Research Consultant
