Welcome to UBC, new contract faculty! Welcome back to campus, returning contract faculty! Teaching on a contract is a challenging task as changes in our contracts, courses, and department policies remain a constant. We will share resources available to you on campus. Please bring a tip you’ve learned. Together, we will come up with a collective list of tips and resources for us all to share.
Sarika Bose teaches in the English Department and is the Chair of the UBCFA’s Contract Faculty Committee, which represents 8-month, 12- month and all other non- tenure track faculty at UBC.
Judy Chan is a sessional lecturer with the Faculty of Land and Food System since 2010 and a staff with the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology. This September, she is teaching a course that she has never taught before and this is also probably the last time she will teach this course.
