Welcome to UBC, new contract faculty! Welcome back to campus, returning contract faculty! Teaching on a contract is a challenging task as changes in our contracts, courses, and department policies remain a constant. We will share resources available to you on campus. Please bring a tip you’ve learned. Together, we will come up with a collective list of tips and resources for us all to share.

Sarika Bose teaches in the English Department and is the Chair of the UBCFA’s Contract Faculty Committee, which represents 8-month, 12- month and all other non- tenure track faculty at UBC. Sarika Bose is also the Chair of the Contract Academic Staff Committee at the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), and represents contract faculty interests in the CAUT Executive Committee.

Judy Chan is a sessional lecturer with the Faculty of Land and Food System since 2010 and a staff with the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology. At the time of writing this brief bio, she was creating quiz questions on Connect(!) to make her 3-hour evening summer class engaging and meaningful.
