Event Description
Multi-access
A common concern of educators at all levels over the last year has been the impact of learning disruptions from 2020-2022. One result has been lower or uneven levels of student engagement in the classroom and other learning environments. How can we revive student engagement in their learning journey so that they can thrive and build strong skills and resilience as they move forward? In this interactive Community of Practice session, Sarika Bose (Lecturer, English/ UBCFA Contract Faculty Committee Chair) and Judy Chan (CTLT/Sessional Lecturer, FNS) will share some ideas and lead a discussion with attendees to explore issues and build our own knowledge of techniques to increase student engagement and student success.
A light lunch will be provided for those who attend in-person. If you are attending in person, please let us know so we can plan for food. Last-minute cancellations or no-shows contribute to food waste, so please consider this when you register. We’re looking forward to seeing you and building our community of learning together as contract academics and instructors.
