Event Date & Time

  • November 3, 2015
    11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Event Description

This event has been cancelled and will be rescheduled.

What will the workshop cover?

This workshop is designed for instructors who are interested in learning more about how classroom response systems can be used to enhance their classrooms. We will discuss our physical remote option (i>clicker) as well as our web-based platform called REEF. REEF is a cloud based solution that allows students to respond with any smart phone, tablet, laptop or computer.

If you are interested in learning more about engaging your students, increased participation and discussion, maintaining students’ attention and receiving assessment through immediate feedback i>clicker would be a great tool for you! Students typically engage more and retain more when using interactive clicker technology.  The key to i>clicker’s success has been its simplicity and ease of use, which is fundamental to the sound pedagogical use of clickers in the classroom.

The workshop will run through the pedagogical reasons why i>clicker can be useful in the classroom as well as a quick overview of how it actually works.

i>clicker is an audience response system being used at over 900 universities in North America, including The University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and Langara College.

If you are thinking about using i>clicker in the future please join us for this hands on session. There will be plenty of opportunity to practice and provide your feedback.
