ComPAIR Workshop – Try out a new technology for student peer feedback and review

ComPAIR is a new online learning technology for peer review that asks students to answer a question, then compare pairs of of their peers’ answers to identify which is “better” based on instructor-set criteria. In doing so, students are also prompted to provide detailed feedback on their peers’ answers and reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of their own answer.

In this workshop, we will give a brief overview of the tool and its development at CTLT, facilitate a hands-on exercise in the application from the student perspective, discuss recommended best practices discovered in courses that have piloted the application so far, and provide dedicated time for setting up a practice assignment with support staff to help.
