Student Experience of Instruction (SEoI) surveys, often referred to as student evaluations, can feel daunting, especially for contract faculty navigating short-term appointments. This session is designed to demystify the SEI process at UBC and help you use student feedback as a tool for growth and reflection.
We will walk through how SEIs are administered, what happens to the data, and how they are reviewed. More importantly, we will discuss how to interpret the results in a constructive way, identify patterns, and respond to feedback with confidence and care. Whether you’re preparing for your first round of SEIs or looking to make better use of past feedback, this session will offer a supportive space to ask questions, share experiences, and develop strategies that align with your teaching values and professional goals.
