Discover how generative AI is transforming higher education and learn how to thoughtfully integrate these tools into your teaching. In this one-week, fully online course, you’ll explore the fundamentals of AI, examine its impact on assessment and academic integrity, and engage with real examples from UBC faculty and students.
Through interactive activities, hands-on tool exploration, and peer collaboration, you’ll redesign elements of your own course to foster equity, accessibility, and meaningful learning. Whether you’re just getting started or already experimenting with AI in your classroom, this course will support you in developing ethical, inclusive, and innovative teaching practices.
Grounded in pedagogical research and educational scholarship, the course connects emerging AI developments with learning theory and evidence-based classroom strategies. The primary audience for this course is UBC faculty; however, educational support staff are also welcome to participate and will find value in understanding how AI is shaping teaching and learning environments.
