In this interactive session, CTLT’s Indigenous Initiatives and Research & Evaluation teams will introduce creative data collection methods that are not commonly used in teaching and learning contexts. Exploring a co-created research question as a living example, we will showcase 6 different methods that help explore this question.
As in all evaluation work, context matters! Who you are and what you bring to the work influences every stage of how evaluation is done. Together, we will reflect on the importance of our own positionality, assumptions, and research experiences when designing evaluation questions. Throughout the session, we will examine our assumptions around data. We will highlight ethical principles, how to increase accessibility, and learning from diverse voices.
This session is designed for UBC faculty, staff, and students who are curious about creative and community-centered evaluation. Please bring a camera to the session; phone camera is great!
