Eligibility
The TA Institute is open to undergraduate and graduate TAs, and all graduate students who are interested in teaching. This session is not open to staff, or faculty.
Event Description:
This session introduces participants to neurodiversity as a way of understanding the different ways students think, learn, and engage. Together, we’ll look at simple, practical strategies TAs can use to help make their teaching more welcoming and supportive for everyone. We’ll explore how small choices—like how we organize a syllabus, communicate with students, or set up assignments—can make learning easier for neurodivergent students, or sometimes create unintentional barriers.
By the end of the session, TAs will feel more confident understanding neurodivergence and will leave with a set of approachable, inclusive teaching practices they can start using right away.
