Event Description
⚒ Hands-on Session Type
[for Instructional Support Staff]
Over the last few years there has been a shift from a single (monolithic) LMS to an integrated UBC Learning Technology ecosystem. The number of learning technology tools (LTIs) now integrated in Canvas has increased significantly. These tools provide additional capability and/or flexibility in both teaching and learning, and work environments. Join us for a hands-on exploration of these LTI’s integrated into Canvas such tools as a Kaltura, LOCR (Library Course Reserves), Clickers, iPeer, COMPair, Respondus Lockdown Browser and Piazza. The session will include a review of case studies using LTIs and a discussion on future LTIs being developed for integration within Canvas environment. Participants will:
- Identify learning technology integrations currently available in Canvas
- Describe and suggest how to best use learning technology integrations in teaching and learning
- Describe future learning technology integrations enhancements in Canvas
Note: This session is geared towards Instructional Support Staff and other support staff who are supporting courses/workshops in the Canvas environment. Please register for this event and bring your own laptop. A light lunch will be served. Facilitators: Manuel Dias, Emily Renoe, and Henry Ng |
