Kickstart Your TLEF Proposal

Event Date & Time

  • August 24, 2023
    3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Event Description

Online

This event is part of the CTLT Summer Institute, taking place from August 21–25, 2023.

The Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) was created in 1991 to enrich student learning by supporting innovative and effective educational enhancements. It is financed entirely by a portion of tuition paid by UBC Vancouver students. Each year, the Office of the Provost invites all UBC Vancouver Faculties and Colleges to apply for TLEF funding for initiatives that will improve student learning experiences at the university.

This session will offer information about the adjudication criteria as well as tips on:

  • Writing your proposal, including how to incorporate clear objectives and evaluation strategies, and where to seek support as you write your proposal
  • Identifying collaborators such colleagues, students, UBC service units, and community partners
  • Developing your budget, including what resources CTLT can offer once your project is accepted.

Bring your ideas and curiosity!

The session is scheduled to be an hour long, and some of the facilitators will stay behind to answer specific questions you may have. Throughout the fall, CTLT will hold weekly TLEF Proposal Consultation drop-in sessions for individual applicants. Please check back often for updates.
