The arrival of generative AI is not a minor disruption; it’s a constantly evolving challenge to how we assess student learning. This session is designed for instructors who are concerned about academic integrity. In the studio we will introduce the “Mitigate, Support, Elevate” framework for designing assessments resilient to AI misuse. Together we will explore this framework for assessing the learning process and not just the learning product. You will leave with a draft plan to redesign one of your own assessments to be more AI-resilient.
Course Design Studio sessions are designed to provide practical strategies for anyone involved in designing courses and learning experiences. They include a brief, high-level overview of the topic, hands-on activities, and dedicated time for both questions and hands-on, personalized support. To get the most out of this studio, please bring your syllabus for a hands-on activity.
Opportunities for one-on-one course design consultation are also available.
