Are you struggling with how to develop theoretical and technical skills in your students, all the while keeping tabs on the safety of the lab? Do you want to increase the level of participation in your lab? Does the prospect of answering questions make you feel anxious or uneasy? Laboratory classrooms are a unique setting in that they are often the place where students have the most opportunity for one-on-one time with their TAs and fellow students, and it is also where students are developing technical as well as theoretical skills. In this session, we will explore several teaching tools such as questioning techniques, how to establish a positive environment, and many more to help you feel more confident as you step into this dynamic role.
