Are you looking for new strategies that will engage your students in active learning, critical thinking, and real world problem solving? Why not try debate? Debate is an effective pedagogical tool for enhancing student engagement and learning and for developing life-long learning skills. In this workshop, you will be given an opportunity to learn about, practice, and discuss using debate as a tool in the classroom. Brainstorming, delivering coherent and persuasive arguments and rebuttals, thinking critically (on your feet!), and giving and receiving meaningful feedback are some of the activities that you will experience during this interactive three-hour workshop.
