RSS: Reading, Re-mixing and Republishing

eLearning Institute

RSS, or "Real Simple Syndication" allows you to track and reuse information more effectively than you may believe possible. It is also the glue that connects social software tools such as weblogs, wikis and social bookmarks. Finding, customizing and publishing dynamic web content has never been easier. We'll show you how to get started with a newsreader, and how to get the most out of using it. We will also demonstrate an open source RSS remixer/republisher for educators that was begun here at UBC. aggRSSive is a tool that can allow you to set up automatically updated news and resource lists and publish them on your website or in your WebCT course.
