In this hands-on workshop, you will setup your own free UBC WordPress account - it could be a course or department webspace or perhaps a private site depending on what you need. We will learn how to change themes and widgets in your sidebar, create posts and static pages as on a normal web page, upload photos to your posts and pages, understand the difference between categories and tags, change your personal settings, allow or disallow comments, add users, and adjust privacy settings.
Who is this course for? For anybody who knows how to use a computer - browsing the internet, checking e-mails, and using simple applications such as Word; Start-ups, non-profit organizations or anybody who does not have the resources to hire a web master; An instructor who would like to create a course webspace; People who would like to share their professional experiences and find new paths to employment; And last but not least, people who like to share their interests with friends and family, or a blog open to the world.
