If you are preparing any kind of multimedia, chances are you want to incorporate images, video or other media from another source. This session will focus on the pragmatic elements of reuse, the essentials of copyright, and the basics of working with Creative Commons and openly licensed materials.

Brian is a Teaching and Learning Strategist with CTLT. He does his best to keep up with the constant developments and new applications of learning technology at UBC and beyond. He also teaches a course on "Text Technologies: The Changing Space of Reading and Writing" for UBC's Master of Educational Technology Program. He also mutters ill-tempered observations on social learning, open education, disruptive technologies and other such things on his weblog, Abject Learning.
