Beyond tests: Utilizing authentic assessment at university
While moving beyond the assessment of convenience, a critical examination of traditional assessment practices has led to the emergence of some alternatives. This session offers a set of macrostrategies for alternatives in assessment that entail demonstrating competence in (semi)authentic contexts.
About the Facilitator:
Shahid Abrar-ul-Hassan has been a classroom practitioner, academic researcher, and teacher development facilitator in higher education settings for over two decades in many countries. He currently teaches at UBC Faculty of Education and works as an official ESOL examiner.
